Flickr’s “Camera Finder” shows the number of members who have uploaded at least one photo with a particular camera on a given day over the last year. The graph lines moving up or down indicates a change in the camera’s popularity relative to all other cameras used by Flickr members. The best magazine covers of the year were unveiled today at the American Magazine Conference, by Cynthia Leive, President of the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) and Editor-in-Chief of Glamour, and Marlene Kahan, ASME’s Executive Director. The conference, a premier industry event attended by executive-level magazine publishers and editors, as well as the press, is hosted by Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) and ASME. Top 40 Magazine Covers of the Last 40 Years

Last October the American Society of Magazine Editors unveiled the top 40 magazine covers of the last 40 years. Rolling Stone’s January 22, 1981 cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono was named the top magazine cover to appear since 1965..

A judging panel of 52 magazine editors, design directors, art directors and photography editors was charged with picking the 40 top covers from a pool of 444 images representing 136 magazines. The contest was open to all consumer magazines published in the United States. Magazines were invited to submit up to four entries from their respective publications. Entrants were also encouraged to nominate covers of magazines that were not published by their company or were no longer being published.

The Pulitzer Prize Winners 2006

The Pulitzer Prize, started by New York World publisher Joseph Pulitzer (1847-1911), is awarded each year for works published the previous year. There are 21 Pulitzer categories. In 20 of those categories the winners receive a $10,000 cash award and a certificate. Only the winner in the Public Service category of the Journalism competition is awarded a gold medal. The Public Service prize is always awarded to a newspaper, not an individual, although an individual may be named in the citation. Here are the winners for 2006…
