New York Magazine looked for specific trends their influentials are driving, people who were not just keeping the seats of power warm but who were effecting real change. The list moves from culture to media to politics and business and so on. Within each field, do not read a hierarchy into the order of names: NY mag did not rank individuals on the list against one another.
