2005 Child Safety Seat Ratings

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s ‘Ease of Use Ratings’ program continues to prompt child restraint manufacturers to improve their products and make them easier for consumers to use. The purpose of the ratings program is to educate parents and caregivers about child safety seat features and to assist them in finding the appropriate child safety seat for their needs.

Overall, the results for the 2005 ratings were the most positive to date. Results show that the majority of improvements pertained to the clarity of labels and instructions. Ratings were also improved within the assembly and CRS installation categories.
